Catherine I. Shepherd, age 67, of Marengo, died Thursday, September 8, 2005 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital from cancer. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 12, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Rev. Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin of Iowa City and special friend, Pam McDowell, and Kirk of Marengo and significant other, Paula Schropp; and 2 grandsons, Paul Alan Shepherd of Marengo and Jacob Cox of Lawrence, KS. Also surviving are two sisters, Irene Meyer and husband Donald of Moscow, and Marion Rathjen and husband Charles of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Paul on April 17, 2000.

Catherine Ida Iserhott was born September 10, 1937 in Wilton, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Lily Reinking Iserhott. She attended the Zion Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Wilton High School in 1955. She married Paul M. Shepherd on August 8, 1958 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. Cathy was employed at a bank in Muscatine for 2 years and then was employed by the Marengo Bank for 47 years and at the time of her death was assistant Vice President.

Cathy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo, the Marengo American Legion Auxiliary, and the Marengo Chamber of Commerce. She was president of the Marengo Housing Corporation and the Blain Fund; treasurer of the Marengo Rotary Club, director of the Marengo Hospital Foundation, and assistant financial consultant to Thrivent Financial.
