Dorothy Ann Lydman was born October 14, 1932 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Ellsworth and Anna Mary (MacKercher) Hedges. She graduated from Westwood High School in 1951 and attended Woods Secretarial School in New York City. Dorothy was united in marriage to Ralph K. Lydman on June 11, 1955 in Westwood, New Jersey. Ralph and Dorothy lived in several communities until retirement and they found their home at Highland Ridge in Williamsburg.

Dorothy has been a former member of the Rutgers’s University wives club from 1963-1965, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in the church choir, was a deaconess and chairman of the music committee in Ithaca, New York at the First Congregational Church. Dorothy died on Saturday, November19, 2022 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 90 years.

She is survived by her children, Laurie (Joseph) Gangl of Sewanee, TN, Susan (Keith) Bergerstock of Moravia, NY and Brian Lydman of Solon; 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph and a son Christopher.
