Robert Sidney Yoder, age 94 of Simpsonville, South Carolina died at home June 4, 2022. He was born August 31, 1927 to Lewis H and Emily Yoder in Williamsburg, Iowa.

In 1945, he graduated from Williamsburg High School in a class of 21 students. He served in the Navy at the end of World War II. After his return, he graduated from Drake University and became an actuary. On August 28, 1948, he married Margaret Fetzer in Williamsburg, Iowa. She preceded him in death after 54 wonderful years of marriage.

After her death, he spent his time traveling to visit his five children who all survive him. They are Becky, Janet, Carol, David and Patty whom are scattered across the United States. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren survive him. He had three sisters. Bettie Zimmerman and Shirley Drennan preceded him in death and surviving him is Barbara Hutton of Corvallis, Oregon.

His jobs took him and his family to New York City, Bloomington Illinois, Indianapolis Indiana, Whittier California and Louisville Kentucky. He loved traveling and seeing new places. After retirement he lived in Indiana then North Carolina and since 2006 lived in the Greenville, South Carolina area.

His sister Barb described Bob as always seeing the best in everyone. Bob was humble and did not talk about himself.

He began his life in the depression. He grew up with frequent visits to his grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. Bob sang bass in the choir and later in a quartet. As a father, to distract his young children on road trips, he had all of us singing in the car. He was a boy scout, delivered newspapers, was active in the Presbyterian church, boxed, was the sports editor for the high-school newspaper, performed in plays, played the oboe and was in a woodwind quintet and excelled in baseball and basketball. As an adult, he was a principal for Insurance companies and became a charter member of the American Academy of Actuaries. After retirement, he created a consulting company.

He grew up being family oriented and continued that tradition to the end of his life. He is dearly missed. Love, Patty, Margaret, Sarah and Scott
