Kathleen Rose Hanson was born April 23, 1941 in Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Anna Veda (Lower) Hanson, Sr. She graduated from Parnell High School. Kathleen worked for Procter & Gamble for over 30 years, retiring in 1996.

She loved her miniature Schnauzers from Binx to Dash and currently Andy. Kathleen enjoyed working in her flower gardens, walking her dog, being outside and spending time with her family. Kathleen was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church then St. Wenceslaus in Iowa City.

Kathleen passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 81 years surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Mike) Blaylock of North English; a sister-in-law, Elaine (Bob) Mowry of Williamsburg and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Arnold Hanson, Jr and a brother-in-law, Bill White.

A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Parnell. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 pm followed by a rosary.
