Douglas “Doug” Denzler, 50, of Burnsville, Minnesota and formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of August 3, 2022 at the Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Doug will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00-11:00 A.M. with interment at the Marengo Cemetery. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in casual attire or wearing Hawkeye colors. Douglas Michael Denzler was born July 25, 1972 to parents Don and Karen (Powers) Denzler in Marshalltown, Iowa. Doug’s early education came from Clemon’s Lutheran School. Doug attended Marshalltown High School where he was active in the Marshalltown Bobcat Marching Band where he played the saxophone. During his marching band career, he performed in several bowl game parades. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1990. He continued his education at Concordia University Nebraska where he graduated with a degree in elementary education.

Doug was united in marriage to Susan Grazzini and the two were blessed with their son Jacob Mathias Denzler in January of 2011. In his free time, Doug was a dedicated Hawkeyes fan, loved to take his son Jacob to see Monster Jam, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, and loved all things NASA, WWE wrestling, Star Wars, Star Trek, or Marvel Related.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Denzler; his parents, Don (Karen) Denzler; his sister, Liz (Doug) Wilke; and his three nieces, Taylor (Kyler) Ladehoff, Victoria Vaudt, and Claire Wilke

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Esther (Mike) Hartman, George Powers, and Lorene (Lorimer) Denzler.
