Paul Irmen, age 53, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo, with Rev. Anni Thorn officiating. Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., until service time, at the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. Memorials may be sent to the family. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Paul is survived by his children Hayden Irmen, Molly Irmen, of South Amana; two grandchildren, Dovorah and Tala; five siblings, Richard (Marian) Irmen, Thomas (Judy) Irmen, Bonnie Downs, Daniel (Kelly) Irmen and Lisa Russell; his step-mom Frances Kern; a step-sister Paula Gebhardt; and two step-brothers, Robert and Daniel Goss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Dorothy Irmen, and a brother-in-law Allen Russell.

Paul Thomas Irmen was born August 5, 1968, in Wheaton, Illinois, the son of Francis and Dorothy (Nelson) Irmen. He graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1986, Wheaton, Illinois. He worked in the maintenance department at the University of Iowa Hospital, Cox Sanitation and later owned and operated Paul’s Carpet Cleaning and Upholstery. He enjoyed watching television and was a Chicago Bears and NASCAR Fan. He loved old cars and listening to country music.
