Burns Maxell Byram, III “Butch” passed away at home on May 20, 2022 at the age of 68. A private service and interment will be held in Chariton, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to hospice, cancer, Alzheimer’s and Shriner’s charities. All were very important to Butch.

He was born in Iowa City, Iowa on Feb. 6, 1954, to Burns and Catherine (Yerkes) Byram. Butch attended the University of Iowa. In 1981, he moved to Gillette, Wyoming and was a licensed stock broker/financial advisor until his retirement 8 years ago. Butch also had a number of business adventures and was always searching for another.

In 2009, he married the love ofhis life, Sue. Butch and Sue wintered in Arizona and spent their time golfing, traveling and entertaining friends and family. Butch was a car, aircraft, fly fishing and gambling enthusiast. Storytelling and wit came naturally for him, and he was typically the center of the conversation. He was a passionate patriot and ready to discuss politics and world events at any time.

He deeply loved his wife, family and grandchildren, Raina and Ava. He was “grandpa shark” to his granddaughters.

Butch is survived by his wife Sue, stepson Casey (Brittni) McGee, grandchildren Raina and Ava, sisters Barbara (Steve) Spanjer, Carol (Wes) Baker, nieces Kendra, Dana Spanjer, along with many incredible friends.
