Debra "Debbie" Sue Eickstaedt, 69, of Palo, died at Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dale; sister, Vickie (Michael) Langton of Racine, Wis.; brother Edward Pochobradsky of Cedar Rapids; two stepsisters, Judy (Gary) Huxford of Marengo and Gail Gerber of Vinton; stepbrother, David (Connie) Newport of Grinnell; sister-in-law, Joyce Pochobradsky of Mount Vernon; brother-in-law, Terry (Marilyn) Eickstaedt of Eloy, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Vicki Kristan (Jim); aunt, Gail Gunderson; and special friend, Theresa Shaver, all of Cedar Rapids; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Leonard Karl Newport; and brotherm Thomas Pochobradsky.

Debra Sue was born June 14, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Emil and Dolores Shedek Pochobradaky. She attended St. Matthew Grade School and Regis High School and graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in horse husbandry. Debbie married Dale Eickstaedt on Nov. 1, 1980, at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

She worked at Quaker Oats since 1978, retiring in 2012. Debbie loved to go boating on the Mississippi River and was known as the Crappie Queen of Winegar Works Marine in Guttenberg. She enjoyed gardening, especially her tomato plants, and going mushroom hunting. ebbie was an excellent baker and made the most delicious sugar cookies that she loved to share with her friends and family. She had a deep love for animals, especially her own dogs.
