A funeral service for Arnold Horn, 89, of Pleasantville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Mason Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the Victor American Legion Post 54, 601 Third St., Victor, IA 52347. Arnold Gus Horn was born May 16, 1932, in Victor, Iowa, the son of Phillip and Alma (Stoker) Horn. Arnold graduated from Victor High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, from 1953 to 1955. He worked for Amana Refrigeration for a few years, before taking a job at Mel's Standard Station in Victor in 1957. Arnold was a mechanic and worked on cars and semis. On Aug. 25, 1963, he was united in marriage to Nedra Ann Wickey in Wiota. The couple made their home in Victor, until moving to Pleasantville in 2012. Arnold retired from Mel's in 2004.

Arnold enjoyed volunteering. He served as an assistant Scout Master, volunteer fireman and was past Legion Commander in Victor. Arnold passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at Pleasant Care Living Center, in Pleasantville, at the age of 89 years.

In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Nedra; and siblings, Ernest, Melvin and Lucille.

Those left to honor Arnold's memory include his children, Natalie (David) Jolly of Pleasantville and Dennis (Melinda) Horn of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Elizabeth (CodyRay) Smith, Dale and Dean; great-grandchild, Charlotte Smith; siblings: Marilyn and Luetta; and many other family members and friends.
