Patrick “Pee Wee” Henry Gallagher, III, 77, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. Greg Bahl. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Rosary that will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home with a Vigil Service to follow. Friends not attending the Rosary or Vigil Service may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. or on Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Patrick is survived by his sons, Brian (Tammy) Gallagher of Cedar Rapids and Shane (Sarah) Gallagher of Atkins; daughter, Tina Bean (Eric Schmitz) of Palo; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Desiree), Trina (David), Kile (Jenna), Logan, Chase (Kayla), Casey (Gabbie), Ry, and Kale; 6 great grandchildren, Alek, Lilliana, Hayden, Sophia, Gannon, and Maila; sister, Judy Higbee of Cedar Rapids; and several nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie in 2021; and his parents.

Patrick was born on May 7, 1944 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Patrick, II and Ellen “Peggy” Teeple Gallagher. He graduated in 1963 from Jefferson High School and went to work at the Rock Island Railroad as a line switchman. Patrick served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 25, 1964, Patrick married Jeannie Kahler at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He worked for 40 years in inventory control at Rockwell Collins, retiring in 1999. After his retirement, he delivered flowers for Pierson’s Flower Shop. Patrick was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #788.

Patrick enjoyed attending the sporting events of his grandkids and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He loved time spent with his family on vacations, and wintering in Texas. Patrick enjoyed visiting with family and friends and he never met a stranger.
