Lillian Emily Hagen was born June 13, 1931, in Homestead, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Helen (Schaedlich) Roemig. She graduated from Amana High School in 1949 and the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport in 1950. She worked as a secretary to the president of Amana Refrigeration. Lillian was united in marriage to Richard Henry Hagen on May 24, 1952, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Homestead. In May of 1953 she joined Richard in Germany, where they lived for 6 months. During that time they traveled throughout Europe. When Richard returned home from the service they moved to the family farm, where they raised their five children. Lillian enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, being baptized and confirmed on November 28, 1951. She was also a member of St. John's Ladies Aid. Lillian passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 90 years.

She is survived by three children, Patricia (Gary) Coleman of Iowa City, Blake Hagen of Middletown and Shelly Blaylock of Tiffin; a daughter-in-law, Denise DeLorme of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell (Jess Goetz) Coleman, Collin (Cliff) Simmons, Hanna Hagen, Casey Blaylock and Nick Hagen; 4 great grandchildren, Emily Rose Coleman, Christopher Thomas Coleman, Juniper Lillian Simmons and John Oscar Simmons and a brother, Robert (Betty) Roemig of Homestead.

She was preceded in death by her parent, husband Richard Sr, 2 sons, Richard Jr. and Scott Hagen, son-in-law, Robin Blaylock, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Hagen and 2 sisters, Marie Hagen and Viola Schmidt.

Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church near Homestead. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.

A memorial fund has been established for Alzheimer's Association or St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
