Einer Earl Stoltzfus of Kalona, the son of John S. and Laura (Beckler) Stoltzfus, he was born September 11, 1927 in Wood River, Nebraska. He moved to Iowa at the age of 10 with his family growing up in the Kalona and Wellman area. On October 26, 1952 Einer was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Wagler at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland. They would have celebrated their 70th Anniversary this October. They lived in Wayland community for 12 years, Williamsburg community for 26 years, until moving to Kalona in 1992.

Einer was a mechanic and a farmer. He owned Ladora Feed Service for 10 years and was area manager for Vigortone Ag Products for 12 years. He was a member of West Union Mennonite Church. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, fishing in Canada, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals and wintering in Florida. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Einer passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at his home in Kalona at the age of 94.

Einer is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; 4 children, Barbara (Joe) Adams of Andrews, IN, Douglas (Pam) Stoltzfus of Parnell, Debra (Joe) Swartzentruber of Kalona and Kathy Finnegan of Kalona; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a brother Richard Stoltzfus of Johnstown, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters; Elvira Yoder, Verl Marner, Grace Maye and two infant sisters, Donna Stoltzfus and Darlene Stoltzfus and 2 brothers, Sterling Stoltzfus and John Stoltzfus Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Private family service will be held on Saturday. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Washington County. Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
