Dorla Dean Dutcher, 92, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly from Millersburg, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at her home in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at Millersburg United Methodist Church in Millersburg, Iowa with Pastor Michelle L. Williamson officiating. Visitation was an hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial followed in the Millersburg Cemetery in Millersburg.

Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home of Waverly, Iowa is assisting the Dutcher family with arrangements.

Dorla Dean Dutcher was born November 3, 1929, The Daughter of Andrew H. and Fern L. (Sumers) Montross in Pilot Township near Millersburg. She graduated from Millersburg Consolidated High School in 1948 and received her BA from The University of Northern Iowa. On August 21, 1955, she was united in marriage to Wayne E. Dutcher at Millersburg United Methodist Church. In 1955, she received her MA from Northern Illinois University.

Dorla taught high school math for more than 40 years in Iowa, Illinois, California, Tennessee, New York and Florida. She taught 13 years at Austin Peay State University and 12 years at the University of Northern Iowa at the time of her retirement.

She is Survived by a Daughter Andrea (Robie) Gronau from Waynesville, Missouri; Sister, Betty Husband from Millersburg, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne on November 4, 1998; three sisters, Donna Imogene Montross in infancy, Gail Gerard and Geraldine” Tiny” Gerard and two brothers, Ward Montross and Charles “Pete” Montross.
