Elaine Mildred Rhinehart Roberts, 90, of Victor, died on Thursday, October 21 at Brooklyn Community Estates.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Victor Memorial Cemetery in Victor. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26th at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor from 9:30 am – 11:00 am.

Memorials may be designated to the Victor Public Library and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 485, Victor, IA 52347. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.smithfh.com.

Elaine was born in Victor, Iowa on February 17, 1931. She was the daughter of Lester W. and Adelaide (Edwards) Rhinehart. She attended school in Victor and graduated from Victor High School in 1948. While she was in school, she was active in all musical activities, specializing in vocal programs. She was most proud of her Division I rating at the National Music Contest held in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1947. After high school, she attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa on a vocal scholarship and majored in Vocal Performance.

In 1950, she was united in marriage with Jack O. Roberts Jr. They raised their 9 children in Victor. Her greatest enjoyment was sharing activities with her children and grandchildren. They went on many vacations and enjoyed camping in the National Parks and visiting historical sites throughout the country.

Later in life, Elaine still enjoyed all types of music. She was a member of the Welsh Choir in Iowa City and performed in many weddings and programs. She taught piano, organ and vocal lessons for 26 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being the director of the Victor Library for many years. As the director she found pleasure in helping the public find their favorite reading materials. She was a member of the Victor United Methodist Church and the Amana Heritage Society where she worked as a guide for many years.

Elaine is survived by her children, Vicki (Terry) Jack of Williamsburg, Scott Roberts of Iowa City, Jeff (Jill Happel) Roberts, Victor, Joel Roberts, Victor, Eric (Heather) Roberts, Ladora and Julie (Scot) Kreienkamp, Perrysburg, OH., 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, and 3 sons Mark, Greg and Brad.
