Karen M. Bischof Ramsey, age 82, of Williamsburg, passed away at her home Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2021, at Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Marengo with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Burial will be at Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Marengo. Visitation: 4:30-7:30 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the family in Karen’s name.

Karen is survived by her husband, David of Marengo, her children Mike Bischof of Amana, Michelle (Gary) Wieland of Oxford, Karee (Terry) Dietrich of Fairfax, Janelle Curry of Homestead, Susanne Schmuecker of Watkins, Joye (Alan) Bowers of Independence, and Lorie (Brian) Bruner of Amana; 17 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings Joan Hunt of Blakesburg, Zelda (Dick) Sherman of Ely, Phyllis (Ed) Begunck of Williamsburg, Alice (Lee) White of Ankeny, and a sister-in-law Alice Heitman of Williamsburg. Also surviving Karen are four step-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Larry Bischof; her brothers Raymond, John D and Wayne Heitman; her sister Linda Roberts; two sons-in-law Sam Curry and Mike Schmuecker.

Karen Mae Heitman was born August 27, 1939, in Williamsburg, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Alma Weisskopf Heitman. She graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1957. Karen was united in marriage to Larry George Bischof in 1957. He passed away in 1987. She later married David Preston Ramsey at Trinity United Church of Christ.

Karen worked at the Amana Woolen Mills, later retiring after 30 years at Amana Refrigeration. Karen was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, pepper clubs, the retirees of Amana Refrigeration and the Marengo American Legion. She loved to play any kind of card game, and bingo. Karen’s life revolved around her family, she had lots of love for her kids, grandkids and her great-grandkids.
