Richard LeRoy Frame, 73, a longtime resident of Norway, Iowa, went to be with his Heavenly Father after a brave battle with cancer on Oct. 1, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, surrounded by family.

Rick, was born July 23, 1948, in Albia, Iowa, to Francis and Delpha (Keys) Frame. After graduating from Norway High School, he was drafted and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was recognized with a Purple Heart for his honorable service. His commitment to service continued as the Commander of the Norway chapter of the American Legion, as a volunteer with the GIVE Foundation, and in the development of the Norway Veterans Memorial.

Rick married the love of his life, Cheri (Anderson) Frame, on Dec. 8, 1979. He was a talented carpenter, working in construction until he attended Des Moines Area Community College and worked at Norand which later became Intermec Technology, retiring in 2010. Following retirement Rick worked for Frontier Co-Op, and Amana Golf Course. Rick loved to spend time with his family, golfing, playing cards, hunting and watching the other love of his life, the St. Louis Cardinals.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cheri; his daughter, Leigh Anne Kohls, husband, Steve, and grandchildren, Anna and Isaac; his son, Ryan Frame, wife, Tammi, and grandchildren, Zachary, Cambrie, Alex and Brynlee; his son, Kyle Frame, wife, Nell, and grandson, Hudson; his daughter, Kara Schulte, husband, Travis, and grandchildren, Savannah, Sawyer, Scarlett and Silas; and his daughter, Kally Frame. He is also survived by his brothers, Eugene (Evie) and Gary (Cathy Osborne); many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog, Maggie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Walford Community Center, Walford, Iowa. Graveside service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Linwood Cemetery, Amana, Iowa, with Pastor Mike Morgan officiating, military honors will be provided by Norway American Legion Post 234.

Memorials to the family will be distributed to Rick's favorite causes. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com. Brosh Funeral Service of Norway is assisting the family in their time of need.
