Kevin Eugene Wieder, 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, following an unexpected illness. Visitation will be Monday, March 1, 2021, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Please respect social distancing practices and wear a mask for the health and safety of all.

A Virtual Family Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. Friends may view the service by way of the Zoom link which is on Kevin's obituary page at www.lensingfuneral.com, under his Tribute Wall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hawkeye Area Wrestling Klub (H.A.W.K.) or to a memorial fund in Kevin's name c/o Jill Wieder.

Kevin was born July 1, 1956, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Chuck and Joyce (Brandt) Wieder. He was a 1975 graduate of City High School. On Oct. 22, 1988, Kevin married Jill Johnson of Lone Tree. Kevin was employed by the University of Iowa for 31 years, retiring in 2018.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Jill, and their Shih Tzu, Jingles, AKA Big Dog; his brother, Don Wieder and Lisa Wolvin of Madison, Wis.; his sister, Kim Hanrahan of Iowa City, and Dan Hanrahan of Cedar Rapids; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Lone Tree; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer (Allen) Pettitt of Coralville; brother and sister-in-law, Joel (Janene) Johnson of LaValle, Wis., nieces and nephews, Hillary (Michael) Muhlenbruch of Iowa City, Huck (Yaru) Hanrahan of Des Moines, Tony Esealuka of Madison, Wis., Angie McNeal (Will Davis) of Iowa City, Ben (Susan) Pettitt of Lone Tree, Catie Pettitt (Curt Woodford) of Marengo, Sasha Kohn of Waterloo, Wis., and Tyler Johnson of Wonewoc, Wis.; 16 great- and five great-great-nieces and –nephews; and many extended family and friends.
