Robert E. Hervey, age 92, of rural Webster, died Friday, February 19, 2021, at his home.

Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial was at South English Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021, at the funeral home.

Robert was born March 9, 1928, in Webster, to Elsworth "Dutch" and Elsie (Glanz) Hervey. He attended Franklin Country School until it closed then attended school in South English, graduating in 1945.

Robert started driving a school bus in 1949. From July 1959 until April 1960 he drove the Star mail route hauling mail to Cedar Rapids and bringing mail back in the morning. He delivered fuel for his uncle, Howard Spivey from 1949 through 1957 and he worked for a time for Donald Coffman's feed mill in North English. Robert also farmed and drove school bus for English Valleys for many years. He especially enjoyed running the pep bus and taking girls basketball and softball teams to games. Robert was fond of cars - mostly Monte Carlos.

Survivors include two nieces: Connie Brubaker (Jim Scanlon) of South English and Susie Fowler of Sigourney; a nephew: Ron Brubaker (Stephene Wright) of Sigourney; great nephews and nieces: Ben & Alisha Brubaker, Owen and Mason; Dan & Jessica Brubaker, Maleah, Kaleb, Kolten and Klayton; Travis & Melissa Brubaker, Tyson & Emeryson; Spencer & Victoria Wright, Claire and Elsie; Brett & Tabitha Wright, Lane and Olivia; Amanda & David Smothers, Lyla, Aidan, Wyatt and Latham; Trenton & Jessica Hervey, Grace and Maverick; Samantha & Ryan O'Neill and Bentlee; Sara Fowler & Travis Schmidt, Lily, Payton and Bo and Cody Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Bernice Brubaker and husband Verle; brother: Don Hervey and wife Thelma; nephew: Rick Hervey and great great nephew: Teagon Fowler.
