Betty M. Rohr, 94, formerly of Marengo, Iowa, died Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Friendship Village in Schaumburg, Illinois. A private graveside service will be held December 16, 2020 at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, Iowa, with Rev. Diane Vorhies officiating. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty Margaret Hull was born January 19, 1926 in Morse, Iowa, to James and Florence (Wonick) Hull. She went to school in Morse, Adel, and Stuart, Iowa, played basketball on the Stuart High School basketball team, and graduated from Stuart High School as a member of the National Honor Society. She attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines for two years, and after graduation from AIB, she worked at the Iowa State Capitol, and later at the R.E.A. in Brooklyn, Iowa.

Betty met John Rohr at a dance following his return from his service in the Army during World War II, and they were married on September 28, 1947. They made their home in Marengo, Iowa, and owned and operated the Rohr Insurance Agency together in Marengo for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marengo for more than 70 years, and was a past member of Eastern Star. They moved to Friendship Village in Schaumburg, Illinois in 2009.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Ronald Rohr and wife Bonnie of Schaumburg, Illinois, and Richard Rohr and wife Ingrid of Boulder, Colorado; four grandchildren, Erik Rohr and wife Cindy of St. Charles, Illinois, Brian Rohr of Bloomington, Illinois, Alyssa Starek and husband Adam of Lafayette, Colorado, and Susanna Rohr of Denver, Colorado; two great-granddaughters, Tori Rohr and Daisy Rohr of St. Charles, Illinois; one sister, Jean Knight of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2012, and sister, Doris Leeper.
