Patricia “Pat” McDonough, age 82 of Williamsburg, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home. Private Funeral Services was held at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. David Wilkening officiating. Friends were welcomed to attend the burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Williamsburg at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, December 14, 2020. In lieu of flowers, cards and memorials may be sent to Matt McDonough at 123 Sunset Drive, Underwood, Iowa 51576. Masks and social distancing are required. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Patricia Josephine Hawks was born December 31, 1937, in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of William Leo Hawks and Loretta Teresa Treanor Hawks. She graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1955 and attended Ottumwa Heights College receiving a degree in Education. She moved to Williamsburg and was employed as a 4th grade teacher. She and Thomas Edward McDonough were united in marriage on July 2, 1960, in Creston. She later worked as a secretary for Home Oil and Tire, and then with the Williamsburg Community School District.

Pat’s priorities in life were faith, family and friends. Over the years, she and Tom enjoyed many trips with their three sons. Pat was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Williamsburg, the Altar and Rosary Society, and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8797.

Pat is survived by her sons, Mark of Janesville, WI, Matthew (Julie) of Underwood, Iowa, and John of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, Luke (Chelsea) McDonough of Lincoln, NE, Cole McDonough of Omaha, Drew McDonough of Davenport, Brock McDonough of Underwood, Breana McDonough Seeger (Austin) of Broadhead, WI, Allison McDonough (Dom Sampson) of Nashville, TN, and Jack McDonough of Brainerd, MN; a great grandchild Maeve Seeger and one on the way. Also surviving are her sisters in law, Lourdell Hawks and Charlene Hawks, along with many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, and her siblings, Teresa Hawks, Paul Hawks, Gene Hawks, Vincent Hawks, Ed Hawks, and Loretta Hawks Torpy, a nephew Stephen Hawks and a grand-nephew Mason Lefeber.
