Medora G. Hopp, 96, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Highland Ridge Care Center. A private family graveside service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy, with the Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Memorials may be contributed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Mary Sue) Hopp of Conroy; five grandchildren, David (Regina) Hopp of Davenport, Kevin (Laura) Hopp of New Bern, N.C., Kelly Hopp of Cedar Rapids, Rachel (Chad) Mittag of Des Moines and Erin (Jeff) Liggett of Urbandale; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Florence Martinson of Rapid City, S.D., Ethel Mumm of Lynnville, LaVerne (Frank) Adams of Marion and Elaine Hulesburg of Marion.

Medora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; a son, Marvin; a daughter-in-law, Ann; and a brother, Arnold.

Medora Gesina Rosina Moennich was born June 10, 1924, the daughter of Christian and Lydia Huedepohl Moennich. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Homestead. Medora was united in marriage to Clarence Hopp on March 20, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Conroy.

She worked for the Amana Society Bakery in Upper South Amana, Roehrkasse Meat Locker in Williamsburg and Colony Village Restaurant in Little Amana. In her later years, Medora enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. Medora had a strong passion for children, crocheting baby hats and stuffed monkeys for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. She received an award for her generosity of 40,000 hours of volunteering her time to make a difference in the lives of others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
