Fred Faltinson, son of F. A. Faltinson of Hilton township, was drowned in the Iowa river while fishing below the Colony dam, near South Amana. The young man and his companion, a young man by the name of Olson were busy fishing off a sand bank when Faltinson’s rod slipped from his hand. He waded out to recover it and stepped in a hole and sank. The accident occurred about 3 o’clock, and it was after a diligent search of some three hours before the body was recovered. The young man was 22 years of age.
