Melvin Russell Faas, 94, of Lincoln, NE, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2020.

Funeral Service were 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S 84th Street.

Burial was on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Fremont Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, NE. Visitation was one hour prior to service time at the church.

Melvin Russell Fass was born March 24, 1925 in Millersburg, Iowa, to Carl G and Edna M. (Floerschinger) Faas. He was a WWII U. S. Navy Veteran.

Melvin retired in 1990 after 41 years as marketing representative for United Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, VFW, American Legion Post #3 and Lindoln Center Kiwanis Club.

Surviving family members include his wife Marie; daughter Anita (Craig) Loeck; grandchildren, Katherine Loeck Carestio (Jamie), New York State, Laura Loeck, California and Sam Loeck, Canada; great granddaughter Maizey Carestio; sister Ethel (Darl) Lee, Carlise, IA.

He was predeceased by his parents, his son Greg;sisters Eileen Callison, Verna Kramer; brother Daryl Faas; and son-in-law Craig Loeck.
