Terry Edward Hershberger, 69, passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2018, with his adoring wife and children by his side. Terry was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Albany, Ore., to Warren and Shirley (Hoylman) Hershberger. He was the oldest of five children. He graduated from English Valley Schools in North English in 1967.

On June 30, 1968, he married Linda Lucine Hicks. Four children were born to this union. Terry moved to the Amana Colonies in 1974 to work for the Amana Society Service Co. He served as general manager and retired in 2015 after 41 years.

Terry loved spending time with family and was an avid reader. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards, good conversation and riding his motorcycles. He was personable and often characterized by his kind and good-humored nature. Upon retiring, Terry and Lucine traveled frequently. These trips often included family and friends, as well as the occasional Spyder motorcycle trek.

Above all else, Terry was a follower of Jesus Christ. His love for the Lord was the foundation of his life. He read his Bible daily and humbly lived out his faith, giving all glory to God. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Cedar Rapids.

Terry's legacy lives on through his loving wife of 50 years, his children and their spouses, and his grandchildren. Remaining family includes Lucine Hershberger, Homestead; Micah and Nick Venema, East Amana; Aaron and Leslie Hershberger, Milford, Neb.; Jesicah and Phil Lehman, Cascade; and Gabriel Hershberger and Allison Larson, Lincoln, Neb. Terry's grandchildren were his biggest fans. Cherishing special memories with their grandpa are Lauryn, Grayce and Luke Venema; Logan and Emma Hershberger; and Wyatt, Peyton and Troy Lehman.

Terry also is survived by a host of family and friends, including his three sisters and one brother, their spouses, and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held Feb. 9 at First Assembly of God. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. A service will commence at 2 p.m. with refreshments to follow.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
