Glenn C. Belden, age 85, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Compass Memorial Hospital, Marengo. Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Pastor Andrew Gray officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Marengo Cemetery.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, January 4, 2019, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Glenn is survived by his wife Sheila, of Marengo; three children Vicki (Lee) Koenig, of Marengo, Daniel (Dar) Belden, of Marengo, and Curtis Belden (Dawn), of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren Quentin (Niah) Koenig, of Marengo, Jennifer Koenig, of Williamsburg, Adrienne (Dan) Phelps of Marengo, Corienne (Brent) Dally of Marengo, Kirstie Koenig of Urbandale, Arielle Koenig of North Liberty, Leighton Koenig of Ankeny, Justin Belden (Tessa) of Sacramento, CA, Ashley Belden (Jake) of Millersburg, and Kaitlyn Stastny of Iowa City; nine great-grandchildren Nevaeh Mobley, Quest Koenig, Arianna Acosta, Dillin Dally, Nyxton, Novak, and Dakota Clark, and Onyx and Copper Phelps; three siblings Russell (Pat) Belden of Clayton Center, Shirley Gifford of Waterloo, and Maxine McAllen of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Julie Belden, a sister Jean Morarie, and a brother Wayne Belden.

Glenn Carmi Belden was born February 20, 1933, in Volga City, the son of Lynn Carmi and Elsie Pearl Hansel Belden. He graduated in 1954 from Volga City High School. Glenn joined the United States Army in 1955. He married Sheila Carpenter in Kirksville Missouri on September 25, 1957.

Glenn worked on farms, at Amana Refrigeration and was a logger for 30 years. He was an avid arrowhead hunter. He enjoyed metal detecting, painted yard ornaments, gardening and bird watching.
