Douglas Merle Morrison, age 46, of Middle Amana, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, in Hiawatha. Family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, beginning with a Scripture Service at 5 p.m.

Memorial Mass: Friday, May 10, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Parish Center, Marengo, with Father David Wilkening officiating. Burial will be in the Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Iowa. Memorials may be contributed to the family in Douglas’ name.

Douglas is survived by his wife Lanja; two children Kyle Dulin (Ashton) of Brandon, Deion Dulin (Corey) of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren Dylinn and Landon Dulin of Brandon; his siblings Rita (Mel) Keller of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Leland (Sandy) Morrison of Davenport, Carol Morrison of Lone Tree, Colorado, Barbara Morrison of Washington, Doris (Stuart) Derby of Marengo, Ron Morrison of Ollie, Karen (Tom) Gettings of Ottumwa, Rose Morrison of Middle Amana, Mary Morrison of Davenport, Connie (Ray) Allen of LeClaire, and Annette Morrison of Lakewood, Colorado; and a mother-in-law Peggy Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his parents Merle and Earlene Morrison, his grandparents, a niece Ashley Derby and father-in-law Lanny Stephens, of Brandon.

Douglas was born April 2, 1973, in Ottumwa, the son of Merle Edward and Earlene Leora (Seaba) Morrison. He graduated from Sigourney Community Schools in 1991 and later attended Indian Hills Community College.

Douglas was united in marriage to Lanja Marie Stephens on May 13, 2017 and they made their home in Middle Amana. He worked at Whirlpool in Amana for 26 years until retiring May 1, 2019. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, stock car racing and hunting.
