Betty Virginia Zimmerman died on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 94 years.

Celebration Of Life Service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 am until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church or the East Iowa Bible Camp. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com

Betty Virginia Zimmerman was born May 19, 1925 in Sewal, Iowa, the daughter of John Owen and Aletha Fern (Surdez) McKee. She graduated from Wyndotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. On August 10, 1946 Betty was united in marriage to Carol Francis Zimmerman in Seymour Iowa. They moved to North English in 1959.

Betty worked for Evans Photography for many years and later as a receptionist for Amana Refrigeration for over 19 years, retiring in 1986. Betty was a member of the Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church where she taught Sunday School and played the organ for many years. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed gardening and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Betty is survived by her children Cheryl (James) Hall of Oskaloosa, Don (Sandi) Zimmerman of Tiffin and Dallas (Lisa) Zimmerman of North English; 9 grandchildren Emily Roering, Travis Hall, Derek Hall, Lindsay Erlandson, Alex Zimmerman, Cortney Greiner, Abbie Zimmerman, Nathan Zimmerman and Brandon Zimmerman; 12 great grandchildren; her siblings Phillip McKee, Carol McKee, Robert McKee and Revis McKee; numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; and siblings Francis McKee, Arthur McKee, Clarris Freis and Benny McKee.
