Celebration of life service for William R. Collins, 74, Williamsburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. He died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

The Rev. Dan Jessop will officiate at the service.

Private family burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Clutier.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

William Rodger Collins was born May 21, 1943, in New Hampton, the son of Ralph and Florence (Hook) Collins. He married Angelene Sebetka on Sept. 15, 1962, in Marshalltown. He worked as janitor for the BGM School district and was a carpenter for S and S Siding.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going for drives and the casino.

Collins is survived by four children, William Collins, Jr., Williamsburg; Justin Collins, Parnell; Crystal Toney, Elberon, and Jason Collins, Parnell; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sibilings, Shirley Heaberlin, Springfield, Mo.; Peg Johnston, Marsha Irwin and Mary Sinibaldi, all Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, John, David and Ralph Jr., and three sisters, Benita, Alice and Janet.
