Funeral services for Floyd W. Baethke, 88, Williamsburg, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at St. John Lutheran Church near Victor. He died Monday, April 2, 2018, with his family by his side at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

Pastor Jan Horne will officiate at the service. Burial was at St. John Cemetery.

Memorials are for Highland Ridge Care Center.

Floyd W. Baethke was born April 19, 1929, near Victor, the son of August and Bertha (Koehn) Baethke. He served in the United States Air Force.

He married Phyllis Jane McCay on December 28, 1952 in Keswick. He worked for Dusenburg Construction until retiring in 1991. They lived most of their life in the Montezuma area until Phyllis passed away and Floyd moved to Williamsburg to reside at Highland Ridge. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with his family.

Floyd is survived by three sons, Mark (Liz) Baethke, Urbandale; Larry (Denise) Baethke, Montezuma, and Greg (Dawnetta) Baethke, Nevada; a daughter-in-law, Karen Baethke, Montezuma; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a brother, Tobe (Marilyn) Baethke, Sigourney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Eugene Baethke; four children in infancy; two brothers, Merlin and Maul Baethke, and a sister, Viola George.
