PHYLLIS ILENE PARKER

Scotch Grove

72, of Scotch Grove, formerly of Hillsboro and Mount Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Phyllis was born on Oct.11, 1946, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of William and Ida Newman Plummer.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Larry Lemont Parker on Oct. 17, 1964, in Mount Pleasant. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2014.

She worked as a home health aide in Mount Pleasant and she was a CNA at Park Place and Mapleleaf Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

She was involved in the CB Club. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family along the river for fish fries and barbecues. She loved to camp and loved her kids and grandchildren. She loved to collect bears of any kind, enjoyed making tie blankets for her grandchildren and doing some crocheting.

Phyllis was a great wife, a friend and a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Richard L. Parker of Scotch Grove, Lorrie (Kent) Lee and Cyndee Parker both of Mount Pleasant, and Sharon (Scott) Trimpe of North English; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Halver (Diane) Plummer of Burlington, and Marvin (Barb) Plummer of Kentucky; two sisters, Bertha Schadt of Mount Pleasant and Charlotte (Dick) Allen of Marion; a brother-in-law, Terry Parker of Oregon; two sisters-in-laws, Delores Plummer of Burlington and Elaine Roach of Mount Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Marsha; four brothers, Leo, Charlie, Bill and one in infancy; one sister in infancy; three sisters-in-laws, Phyllis, Pat and Ruth; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Following the visitation, cremation will be accorded. A private family burial will be at a later date at the White Oak Cemetery in rural Mount Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
