Andrew “Andy” Joshua Dean May, 35, of Victor passed away June 27, 2019.

Services for Andy were held on Sunday, June 30, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Victor American Legion, a Celebration of Life Service began at 4:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at the Victor Memorial Cemetery at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with military honoring

Per Andy’s wishes he will be cremated and laid to rest beside his grandparents and Uncle with a family burial.

Andy was born July 3, 1983, in Iowa City, Iowa to Robin May and his mother. Andy attended HLV Community Schools and graduated in 2002.

Andy or “May” as many called him, enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard his senior year of high school. After graduation May was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan during 2003 until 2004. He later reenlisted for a second tour in 2004 until 2005. Andrew was also a member of the Victor American Legion.

Andy is survived by his wife, Therese May of Victor; his father, Robin May of Indianola; his sister, Victoria (DJ) Hadley of Victor; his sister, Samantha (Chase) Eckley of Colorado Springs; his son, Taylor Allen May of Forrest City; his daughter, Kora Lee May of Florida; his nieces and nephews; and many friends that were like family to him throughout his life.

Andy is preceded in death by his Grandma, Rose May; his Grandpa, Dean May; his Uncle,Troy May; and brothers and sisters that perished during his two tours in Iraq.

Fly high our brother… until we meet again!
