Funeral Mass for Barbara E. McCune, 52, Williamsburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg. She died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at her home.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Parnell.
Memorials may be made to Safe Haven of Iowa County.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.

Barbara Ellen McCune was born March 5, 1965, in Marengo, the daughter of John Francis and Shirley Ann (Werner) McCune. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1983. She was a life long farmer, producing crops, raising cattle and custom baling. She married Orville L. Weiss on Dec. 17, 2014, in North English.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Ace, Max and Rosie, going to the sale barn, gardening and canning. She had her pilot’s license and was a former real estate agent for Grimm Reality.

McCune is survived by her mother, Shirley, North English; five siblings, Katherine (Jay) Friesen, Tucson, Ariz.; Tom (Darlene) McCune, Cedar Rapids; Janet (Monte) Kugley, Homestead; Carolyn McCune, Des Moines, and Kim McCune (Steve Fuhrmeister), Iowa City; a sister-in-law, Joy McCune, Albert Lea, Minn., and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, John III and William, and her husband, Orville.
