VICTOR - Thomas Pender, 39, of Victor, was killed in a motorcycle accident Wednesday just west of his hometown, reported the Powesheik County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy located Pender and the vehicle on Old 6 Road at approximately 11 p.m. No other vehicles were involved. A member of the county medical examiner's office pronounced him dead at the scene.
Shirley Pender, also of Victor, said her son was on his way home, but she did not know where from. He rode a "sports type model" and always wore a helmet, which he had when he left home.
"He happened to be on a bad curve outside of town where several people have been killed," Shirley Pender said. "It's just a freaky type of curve. You can't see that
far ahead of you."
Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Thomas Eugene Pender, 39, of Victor, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in a motorcycle accident west of Victor. Services will be at a later date. Burial: Milton Cemetery, Milton. There will
be no visitation. Arrangements by Smith Funeral Home, Victor.
Survivors include his parents, Floyd and Shirley; two daughters, Crystal and Kimberly Austin, both of Strathmore, Calif.; and a sister, Ann Hatcher of Victor.
