Williamsburg - Williamsburg- Douglas "Boone" Allan Gorsh was born December 4, 1953 in Williamsburg, Iowa the son of Russell Floyd and Laurena Ann (Teggatz) Gorsh. He attended Williamsburg High School and worked in the construction field. In September 1973 Doug was united in marriage to Carol Jean Kahler. To this union they were blessed with two sons. They later divorced. Doug was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed playing pool and cards, taking road trips in his Jeep and spending time with family and friends. He died on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City at the age of 64 years.

He is survived by his two sons Jody and wife Michelle of Iowa City and Jay and wife Hannah of Williamsburg; six grandchildren; a brother Denny Gorsh of Williamsburg; sister-in-law Marilyn Glasco of What Cheer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Dale Gorsh; and a sister-in-law Donna Gorsh.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A Celebration of Life Service will be held following the visitation at 6:00 pm. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
