Celebration of life service for Michael D. Galyon, 19, Williamsburg will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at the Williamsburg High School Auditorium, Williamsburg. He died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, in an auto accident.

Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, was in charge of arrangements. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at the auditorium.

A Williamsburg High School scholarship fund has been established in Michael’s name at US Bank, Williamsburg.

Michael Dudley Galyon was born June 15, 1998, in Nacogdoches, Texas, the son of Andrew and Misty (Thorndyke) Galyon. He lived in Gibson City, Ill., before moving to Williamsburg in 2014. He was a May 2017 graduate of Williamsburg High School, were he had been active in football and wrestling.

He was employed at Under Armour in Williamsburg and was a sports official for high school football and USSSA baseball. He was enlisted to serve in the United States Army next month. Michael enjoyed working out in the gym, ICOR in Iowa City and spending time with kids, especially helping with youth wrestling.

Galyon is survived by his parents, Andrew and Misty Galyon; a brother, Korban Galyon; a sister, Kathryn Galyon, all Williamsburg; grandparents, Gary and Cindy Galyon, Nacogdoches, and Grace Strebeck and Lee Feldman, both Gibson City, Ill.; three aunts, Sara Thorndyke, Gibson City, Ill.; Alana Bundrant, Nacogdoches, and Julia Pelletier, Denver, Colo., and an uncle, Patrick Galyon, Lubbock, Texas, along with numerous extended family.
