Wanda was born on April 9, 1946 in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Arlene (Kostka) Baethke.

Wanda attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Guernsey, Iowa and later attended HLV in Victor.

Wanda was united in marriage on December 3, 1962 with William Baetsle in Las Vegas. They lived in Victor where they raised their 4 children. Wanda worked as a fork lift operator as the very first woman in the warehouse for 26 years at Amana.

Wanda loved to watch game shows, especially The Price is Right with Drew Carey, and enjoyed westerns. She loved riding horses and grew up on a farm milking cows by hand. Wanda loved to play cards with anyone that was willing to play with her. She liked to travel and socialize and loved to sit down with a good beer in hand.

Wanda died on July 14, 2018, at her son’s home in Woodward, at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her four children, Bill (Keri) Baetsle of Woodward, Michael (Angie) Baetsle of Hedrick, Diane (Shawn) Quick of Sedalia, MO, Julie Baetsle of Cedar Rapids; 7 grandchildren, Zach Baetsle of Des Moines, Janet (Brandon) Carpenter of Woodward, Traci Grooms-Baetsle of Madrid, Joel (Amber) Baetsle of Victor, Kori Eckelstafer of Plover, WI, Daniel Rockamann of Wentzville, MO, Kristen Meeker (Brad) Payne of Ottumwa; one brother Loys Baethke of Belle Plaine. She is preceded in death by her husband William; her parents Harold and Arlene and her brother Gordon.
