Funeral service for Kaitlyn Cook, 19, Deep River, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Community Hope Church, Montezuma. She died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017.

Burial will be in the Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Community Hope Church with the family present from 4 to 8 p.m.

Holland-Coble Funeral Home, Montezuma, is in charge of arrangements.

Kaitlyn Jolene Cook was born June 8, 1998, at Iowa City, the daughter of Steven Papesh and Tammy Cook. She graduated from English Valleys High School, North English, in 2016 with her twin sister Dorothy. She participated in cheer leading, softball, basketball and played the trumpet in the band.

Kaitlyn loved riding in the semi with her grandpa, David Cook, where they shared a very special bond. She also spent so much time and had fun riding horses with her dad and Grandpa David Papesh. She loved many pets including her cats, her pet calf Freddie and all kinds of monkeys. She was a lifelong resident of Deep River. She worked at Subway for a short time and was currently working at Priority Plastics, Grinnell. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the friendship of many. She had a passion for children and babysitting because she loved all children. Kaitlyn was fun to be around, said the craziest things, cared for everyone and always put others first. Favorites of hers were her dog Patches, the color blue and sunrises and sunsets.

Cook is survived by her parents, Tammy (Ronald) Beardmore II, Deep River, and Steven Papesh, Belle Plaine; her sisters, twin Dorothy Cook, Melinda Allnutt, Nicole Papesh, Taylor Papesh; her brothers, Cauy Beardmore, Drake Beardmore and Skyler Papesh; her grandparents, David and Sally Cook, Deep River, and Marilyn Papesh, Belle Plaine; her uncles, Travis (Cassie) Cook, Colfax; Trampus Cook, Deep River, and Scott Papesh, Belle Plaine; her boyfriend, Kain Shepherd, New Sharon, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa, David Papesh; great-grandparents, Roger and Virginia (Nana) Johnston, James and Dorothy Cook, Paul and Mary Papesh and Aldon and Emma Murphy.
