Graveside services for Esther Smith, 79, rural Victor, were held at 10 a.m Thursday, Nov. 10, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Iowa County She died Nov 7, 1994 at her home.

The Rev. Nathan P. Rastl, St. John's Lutheran Church, officiated at the service.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home, Victor, was in charge of arrangements

Esther Charlotte Smith was born Feb 10, 1915, near Deep River, the daughter of William and Anna Kuesel Meyer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church and attended St John's Lutheran School.

She married Leonard John Smith Dec 25, 1937, at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Lincoln Township for many years. She was a homemaker and helped with farm operations.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking

Smith is survived by one son, Garvin Leonard Smith, Mitchellville; one, daughter Sheryl Ann Doehrmann, Williamsburg; three grandchildren, David Drown, Darcy Blythe and Lisa Smith; four great-grandchildren,, Erica and Alicia Drown, and Paige and Nolan Blythe and two sisters, Glenna Wilcox Deep River, and Helen Fetzer, Sun City AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers Harvey and Roy Meyer, an a grandson, Timothy Drown.
