Larry R. Burck, 79, Williamsburg, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, with family by his side.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Larry Ralph Burck was born Aug. 21, 1938, near Millersburg, the son of Ralph and Bertha (Tish) Burck. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1956.

On October 11, 1980, he married Maxine Elaine Johnson at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Millersburg. He owned and operated Burck Tire Co. Inc., retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. He loved going to casinos, playing cards and spending time with his family. He never knew a stranger. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Burck is survived by his wife, Maxine, Williamsburg; three daughters, Debra (Bob) Schmidt, Deep River; Deb Miller, Deep River, and Shelly Reiten, North Liberty; two sons, David, Deep River, and Dan (Kris), rural North English; 10 grandchildren; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Taylor, Des Moines.

He was preceded by his parents and grandparents.
