Paul Mahannah, 54, Died at Keokuk; Buried Here
Paul Mahannah, 54, of 620 N. 7th St. Keokuk, Iowa, died at St. Joseph hospital, Keokuk, at 5:10 Saturday afternoon, June 6, 1964, after a serious illness of several months.
The son of the late George L. and Pauline Rogner Mahannah was born January 15, 1910 at North English, Iowa. He was graduated from high school here in 1927.
He was married to Jean M. Brown on November 26, 1930, at Iowa City. They resided in Ottumwa before moving to Keokuk 21 years ago.
Mr. Mahannah was associated with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and the Rupley Electric Company in Keokuk prior to his employment at the Tigue Motors, Inc, where he was general manager and secretary-treasurer at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Trinity Methodist church, a live-time member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Lodge No.. 106 of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks and the Keokuk Lions club. He was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Mahannah, a son, David Paul Mahannah at home, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Haas of Denver University at Denver, Colorado and Mrs. Richard (Judy) Worster of Keokuk; two sisters, Miss Mildred Mahannah of Des Moines and Mrs. Ernest Vermazen of Fayette, Iowa; one brother, Melvin Mahannah of Berea, Ohio, and a granddaughter, Wendy Sue Worster, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the Trinity Methodist church in Keokuk, the Rev. Wesley W. Steinmetz officiating.
Burial was made in the North English cemetery. Graveside rites here were at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning.
