Celebration of life memorial services for Dean Wiebold, 75, Williamsburg, are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, with the Rev. Richard Meyer officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the church.

Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, was in charge of arragnements. Memorials are for Alzheimer’s Research For A Cure. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.

Mr. Wiebold died Friday, Oct. 20, at Windmill Manor, Coralville.

Dean Millen Wiebold was born March 22, 1942 in Williamsburg, Iowa the son of Millen and Martha (Wardenburg) Wiebold. He was a 1960 graduate of Williamsburg High School.

On Sept. 17, 1960 Dean was united in marriage to Janice Helen Newkirk at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg.

He worked for Belland Heating and Plumbing from 1959-1975. From 1975-2011 Dean owned and operated Dean Wiebold Plumbing and Heating. He also owned Burg Cleaning Village from 1982- 2013 and Wiebold Rentals.

Dean was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a volunteer for the Williamsburg Fire Department for over 20 years and a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren to respect and love nature. Dean loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, enhancing and preserving the land God blessed us to live on. He enjoyed restoring hilly farm ground back to prairie, and building ponds to stop erosion. If something was extra special it was splendous!

Dean is survived by his wife Janice, Williamsburg; five children, Douglas (Brenda) Wiebold of Williamsburg, Joan (Rick) Huedepohl of Lake Koshonong, Wisconsin, Jane (Todd) Wardenburg of Williamsburg, Deanna (Forrest) Plank of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Jessica (Andrew) Schropp of Williamsburg; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister Carolyn (Roger) Kuesel of Victor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, two sisters, two brothers-in-law Robert Walter and Raymond Sandersfield, and a grandson.
