Funeral service for Dorothy I. Imhoff, 97, Marengo, was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 18, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo. She died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017.

The Rev. Lisa Crow officiated at the service.

Burial was in Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

A memorial fund has been established.

Dorothy Irene Beard was born Oct. 24, 1920, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Hankammer Beard. She received her education in the country schools around North English.

Dorothy married Antone Imhoff on Dec. 24, 1936 in Marengo. She enjoyed gardening and canning, making comforters, embroidering and going on Sunday afternoon drives. In her later years, she liked to play dominos and color. Dorothy loved all of her family dearly and also enjoyed caring for them. A special thank you to all the girls at River Valley Dialysis for all of the care Dorothy received.

Imhoff is survived by 11 children, Irene Larimer, Belle Plaine; Doris Jacobs, Marion; Robert (Jan) Imhoff, Atlantic; Harriet (Mark) Kensler, Marengo; Herman (Patricia) Imhoff, Marengo; Richard (Jackie) Imhoff, Cedar Rapids; Jerry (Patsy) Imhoff, Marengo; Julie (Rod) Fisher, Belle Plaine; Tom (Linda) Imhoff, Sweet Water, Tenn.; Bonnie Oxley, Cedar Rapids, and Dennis (Cindy) Imhoff, Marengo, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Antone H. Imhoff; two sons, Antone Eugene and David; two grandsons, Timothy Imhoff and Billy Larimer; two great-granddaughters, Eldora Mae and Alyssa Raelyn Imhoff; a special niece, Loretta Roseman; two brothers, John and Andon Beard; two sisters, Emma Beard-Sparrowgrove and Minnie Beard-Sparrowgrove; two half-brothers, George and Leonard Hinkle; and a son-in-law, Russell Jacobs.
