Funeral service for Audrey J. Keller, 87, Storm Lake, was held held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Storm Lake. She died Dec. 25, 2017, in Omaha, Neb.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home, Storm Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

Audrey Jean Grosshauser Keller was born Dec. 3, 1930, in rural Storm Lake, the daughter of Fred and Agnes (Meseck) Grosshauser. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, Hanover, on Dec. 28, 1930, and in 1944 she was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Germantown.

She attended first through third grade in rural school one mile from her home and fourth through eightht grade at Germantown Lutheran School. In 1948, she graduated from Paullina High School.

Following high school graduation, she attended Concordia Lutheran College in River Forest, Ill., where she earned her associated degree. She taught at St. Paul Lutheran School, Williamsburg, from 1950-1956 and Zion Lutheran School for one year in 1966. She was the school librarian in Albert City and Rolfe until her retirement in 1996.

She married Edgar Keller June 17, 1956, in Paullina. They were blessed with two children, Janet and Barbara.

When her husband died in 1975, she returned to Buena Vista University to finish her degree in library science. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1980.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, in rural Storm Lake, where she held offices in Ladies Aid and LWML as well as local clubs. She was also a member of the Happy Hour Club in Albert City.

She loved a good recipe and a great book. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. Her family is blessed to carry on her legacy of living a faith-filled life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Janet (Paul) Koenig, Omaha, Neb.; Barbara (Paul) Zeller, Victoria, Minn.; grandchildren: Steven Zeller, Washington, D.C.; Peter Zeller, Victoria, Minn.; Ericka (Zach) Hall, Omaha, Neb.; Dr. Aimee (fiancé, Jeffrey Aden) Koenig, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Jola Zeller, Minneapolis, Minn.; great-granddaughter, Nyomi Joy Hall; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Grosshauser; sister-in-law, Elsie (Robert) Schroder; brother-in-law, Ralph (Elda) Keller, and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister-in-law, Dorthy Hinrichs, and brother-in-law, Edmund Hinrichs.
