Mary Ellen Randall, 80, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 22, 2017, in Los Angeles, Calif. She was born in Marengo, the daughter of Terry and Edna [Starry] Randall.

An ardent advocate of higher education, she worked for nearly 30 years at USC, retiring as associate dean, director of graduate and international admissions. Traveling to more than 50 countries recruiting the highest caliber international students, her successful recruiting efforts are reflected in the university’s extensive and diverse international student alumni.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, feisty spirit, love for life, Los Angeles, football and her Trojan family.

Randall is survived by her daughters, Andrea Berg McKinney (Jerry McKinney) and Michele Berg, Los Angeles; brother, Spencer Randall; nieces, Susan Johnson and Beth Hyser, Duluth, Minn., and grandson, Odin Witt, Los Angeles, Calif.
