Funeral services for Marie W. Danskin 82, Marengo, were held at the First United Methodist church at 1:30 PM Monday with the Rev. Charles Birchmier officiating.
Mrs Danskin, who had been ill for about a year, died at Marengo Hospital, Sat, June 27, 1981, of cancer, after being hospitilized there about eight weeks.
Pallbearers were, Frank, Eugene, Kenneth and Clyde Danskin, all nephews; Howard Frimml and Richard Mouchka. Interment was in the Ladora Cemetery.
Born 25 May 1899 in the rural Blairstown area, she was the daughter of Edward and Susan Ellen Hartz Huff. She graduated from Blairstown high school in 1918 and taught school in the rural Blairstown area.
Her marriage to Carl A. Danskin took place Oct 19, 1921 at Waterloo. She has been a resident of the Marengo area since 1921 and lived in her present home since 1967.
A member of the First United Methodist church, she was active in the United Methodist Women's Society and also a member of the Marengo Xtra years of Zest.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Danskin, Marengo; Don Danskin, Marshalltown; and one daughter, Shirley ( Mrs Durane) White, Grimes; one brother, Glenn Huff, Des Moines' and four sisters, Gertie Schuchert, Crown Point, IN; Ada Hunzelman and Nadine Burger, both of South Amana; and Ida Engle, Des Moines; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in Sept 1966 and two brothers, Lyle and Mel Huff and two sisters, Claire Wilder and Mamie Roderick.
