Services for Thomas J. Jones, 80, route 2, Williamsburg, were held Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Uhlmann Funeral home, Williamsburg. The Rev. David G. Wessels officiated.

Jones died at 4 a.m.. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1981, after several years of failing health. He had been admitted the day before to Mercy hospital, Iowa City.

An organ solo, “How Great Thou Art,” was played by Marilyn (Mrs. Myron) Heitman and the congregation sang “O God, Our Help In Ages Past.”

Mrs. Orlen Imhoff and Mrs. Harold Heitman were in charge of the flowers.

Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Williamsburg. Casket bearers were Orlen Imhoff, Arthur Stanerson, James Rourke, Robert Pointer, Charles O’Neill and Ivan Kahler.

Thomas J. Jones was born at the rural home of his parents, Morris E. and Catharine Jones Jones, Jan.4, 1901. He attended the Williamsburg schools.

On Nov. 11, 1930 he married Mabel M. Klever. The couple farmed east of Williamsburg, where they had continued to make their home. He was a member of the Stellapolis Lodge No. 391, Williamsburg.

Surviving in addition to his wife., Mabel, is a son, Philip M., who is employed at Amana Refrigeration, Inc., and lives at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret, who died in 1966.
