Celebration of life service for Frances Jean Winter, 84, Williamsburg, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She died Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Marengo Memorial Hospital, Marengo.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.

Frances Jean Winter was born March 25, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Elsa (Hilsenbeck) Muller. She attended school at Maryville, Mo.

She married Herbert E. Winter on Feb. 14, 1954, while they were in the service in Newfoundland. Once Herb was discharged from the service they moved back to Waterloo and then to Conroy in 1960. She was a homemaker while the children were growing up along with working at Hilton Consolidated School, Conroy, as a secretary. Later, she worked at a number of businesses in the Amana area. She enjoyed crocheting, playing card, reading, ballroom dancing and spending time with family.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy.

Winter is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert, Williamsburg; four children, Herbert Jr. (Mary) Winter, Armstrong; Randy Winter, Leon; Pamela Jean Winter, Cedar Rapids, and Marla (DJ) Dilley, Burnsville, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Roberta Adkins, Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Adam; great-grandson, Isaac, and a sister, Virginia Siepel.
