Dwane R. McMenomy, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Solon Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City with Father Gary Beckman Officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Dwane was born on October 23, 1928 in Williamsburg, IA, the son of Myles and Emma (Johosphaphat) McMenomy. He was a supervisor for the Highway Commission for 20 years. After he retired he was then a security guard for ACT and also assisted Rusell Slade with roofing. Dwane was united in marriage to Rose Clements on February 27,1954 in Iowa City. He served in the Air Force from 1950-52. Dwane and Rose built their house together. Rose designed the house, and they could do everything but the basement, plumbing and heating. Dwane was left handed and Rose is right handed; they started at opposite ends and ended in the middle. Rose enjoyed antiquing and Dwane enjoyed driving and eating at the various restaurants along the way.

Dwane is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, Opal; and many extended family.
