Marilyn J. Petree, 79, lost her battle with Alzheimer's Disease Jan. 15, 2017, at Overland Park, Kan. The family will hold a private service and she will be laid to rest at the Church of Resurrection Memorial Garden.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, Kan. 66208.

Marilyn Petree was born Aug. 7, 1937, at Williamsburg, the daughter of John and Hazel [Martin] Fant. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1955 and from the University of Iowa dental hygiene class of 1958 and practiced for many years.

She was an amazing wife, mom and grandma who adored her family, friends and especially her grandkids, who were the light of her life. "Momo" will be missed deeply and forever in our hearts.

Petree is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Petree Jr.; their two children, Jon (Lisa) Petree and Lisa (Charles) Petree Friedman; one brother, Bob Fant, West Plains, Mo., and four grandchildren, Drew, Cole, Lauren and J.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
