Funeral service for Charles L. Haus, 59, Marengo, was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. He died Thursday, March 30, 2017.

The Rev. Eddie Thomas officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Marengo Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

Charles Haus was born Dec. 15, 1957, in Des Moines, the son of Carl Darrel and Pauline Linburg Haus. He received his education in the Des Moines schools.

He married Kathy Duncan on Dec. 13, 1980, in Des Moines. He worked at Waste Management, S and J Sanitation and Tyler’s Refuge, and also mowed lawns and did snow removal as a side job. He loved to go fishing, work on cars and especially loved having all the family around.

Haus is survived by his wife, Kathy; two children James (Candace) Duncan, Marengo, and Angel (Charles) Alford, Marengo; 13 grandchildren, James (Patience), Christina (Luis), Emily, Izaiah, Diana, Kayla, Lillie, Charlie Jr. (Skye), Zoe, Myia, Shantelle, Amber (Porky) and Neal; eight great-grandchildren, Dakota, Victoria, Izadora, James L. Jr., Kathy, Jecy, Rosie and Braxton Charles; and three siblings Vickie Eashm, Joyce Haus and Connie Haus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bonnie Sapone, and Jackie Zurfluh and a brother Carl.
